BIOGRAPHY
MARCO NICA was born in Rome in 1973. His "Yin" sees him employed in the IT department of a pharmaceutical company, while his "Yang" has made him a writer, poet, actor, and theater director for thirty years.
Theater
Many theatrical works have been staged since 1991, featuring Italian authors such as Eduardo De Filippo, Peppino De Filippo, Dario Fo, Samy Fayad, Carlo Goldoni, and Aldo De Benedetti. A particular success was the show "Varietà per varie età" which, retracing half a century of Italian comedy, won the Best Show award at the 2014 Contemporary Playwriting Competition "Trastestorie" at the Teatro Trastevere in Rome.
Cinema
In 2007, he conceived, wrote, and starred as the lead actor in the feature film "C'era una volta Rugantino", a work included in the ANICA catalog of Italian films and presented on Rai Tre in the program "Cominciamo Bene - Prima" hosted by Pino Strabioli.
Literature
He has published the novels "Così è (se mi pare) – Storia di un attore" (2010) and "C’era una volta Rugantino" (2011) and the thrillers "Ægyptvs" (2008), "Il tempio dell’Imperatore" (2009), "The secret of Nefertiti" (2024) and "El secreto de Nefertiti" (2024).
For Poetry he has published: "Senza aver paura" (2007), a collection that won the III International Literary Competition "Il Saggio" in Eboli (SA); "La vita è un atto unico" (2012); "Ahó! - Poesie de Roma mia" (2015), a collection that won the XI edition of the International Literary Prize in Italian at the Campidoglio; "L'intima Babele" (2017); the collection UniVersi Vol.1 (2018), winner of the V National Literary Competition "Luce dell'Arte" in Rome; "Meraviglia" (2020), a work that received recognition from the International Academy of Modern Art in Rome; "Amore" (2020), a collection of all love poems; "Alter Ego" (2021), a work that won the "Franz Kafka Italy Prize" for Imagination; "Infinito" (2022); "Graffiti" (2022); the collection UniVersi Vol.2 (2022); Numerous literary awards won in various national and international competitions.
